The Town of Cornelius is constructing a Veterans Monument that will include the names of
all veterans, living or deceased, who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, received an
honorable discharge, and lived in Cornelius at some point in his/her life. The purpose
of the Veterans Memorial is to show appreciation, and to pay tribute to those
who served, or are presently serving our great nation in the defense of its freedoms.

To help raise funds for the monument, Cornelius’ American Legion Post 86 is holding this Charity Ride that will include a beautifully scenic country ride, great raffle prizes, fun for everyone, 5 entertaining stops and prizes for best and worst hands.

The ride begins at the future site of the Cornelius Veterans Monument, near the intersection of Catawba Avenue and HWY 115 in Cornelius, and wil! end at Mac’s Speed Shop, Cornelius where w e w ill enjoy an afternoon of companionship, food, fun, and prizes.

Registration begins at 8:AM. Ride starts at 9:AM with the last car/bike out at 10:AM.

• $20 a bike/car (driver)
• $10 passenger
• $10 additional hand

Free BBQ and fun will be had by all!

Iron Station Thunder will be joining The Big Deal Snowmobile Poker Run in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on February 19, 2011. The Big Deal is the first of what is hoped to become an annual event held on the great trails of the Sudbury Trail Plan. This year’s run is expected to draw over 300 snowmobilers and boasts over $25,000 in prizes, including a $1,000 cash Grand Prize. The Big Deal also serves as a fundraiser for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization, the Lion’s Club, and the Sudbury Trail Plan – so it’s good fun in support of a good cause.

While in Canada we will enjoy a tranquil setting on a private lake in Bracebridge and participate in an action packed, fun filled adventurous snowmobile ride from Lake Muskoka up to Sudbury.  Following the Poker Run, we’ll all meet at the Garson Arena for a full buffet dinner and a live evening concert featuring, my good friend and amazing country music recording artist, Larry Berrio.

Larry’s popularity and fan base have grown rapidly in both Canada and in the US and this is sure to be a great, highly energetic show with fast paced and catchy tunes that are the perfect accompaniment  for those of us with a need for speed!  I can’t wait to see him perform again! Larry has also been featured on several television programs as “Canada in the Rough,” “Fins and Skins” and the Red Green Show. Lucky for me, while I’m in Sudbury at the poker run, I’ve been invited to join a few other special guests for the taping of Larry’s brand new Outdoor Channel TV show that will be broadcast across Canada. That’s gonna be an awesome good time!

Larry’s new album, RPM, was recorded in Nashville at Grand and Gee Music Group and features band members of Jason Aldean’s band and Murray Pulver (Doc Walker). This album has definitely given Country Music a new sound – you can purchase “RPM” here.

As if all this wasn’t enough fun and good times for one outing, as the week winds down, we will head back to Buck’s cottage for some Molsons and the Daytona 500.  I feel sure that the crowd will be pulling for Marcos Ambrose, but you will always have your die hard Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan!
